In 2011, over 3.5 billion tickets were sold across the globe which in comparison is 900,000 tickets more than Hollywood.Many were hits and many were flops and some movies made big profits.Almost every year there are some movies which breaks some records in terms of box office collection.In this top 10 list we are going to show you the top 10 highest grossing bollywood movies of all time.

10. Kick (Gross 351 crore, US$52 million)

Kick is a 2014 Indian action film produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. It is an official remake of a Telugu movie Kick which was released in 2009. The film features Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles and Nawazuddin Siddiqui , portraying the main antagonist of the film. The screenplay was adapted by Nadiadwala and Chetan Bhagat. The film released on 25 July 2014 in about 5,000 screens worldwide.

9. Bajirao Mastani (Gross 358 crore, US$53 million)

Bajirao Mastani is a 2015 Indian epic historical romance film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also composed the music of the film. It is jointly produced by Bhansali and Eros International. The film stars Ranveer Singh as Bajirao I and Deepika Padukone as Mastani, with Priyanka Chopra playing Bajirao's first wife Kashibai. Tanvi Azmi, Vaibbhav Tatwawdi and Milind Soman appear in supporting roles. Based on the Marathi novel Raau by Nagnath S. Inamdar, the film narrates the story of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao (1700-1740 AD) and his second wife Mastani.

8. Dilwale (Gross 372 crore, US$55 million)

Dilwale is a 2015 Indian romantic action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty, and produced by Gauri Khan and Rohit Shetty under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Productions respectively.The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, with Johnny Lever and Varun Sharma in supporting roles.Dilwale has grossed over 372 crore (US$55 million) worldwide, becoming the second highest-grossing film starring Shah Rukh Khan after Chennai Express.

3 Idiots is a 2009 Indian coming of age comedy-drama film co-written, edited, and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Abhijat Joshi wrote the screenplay. It was loosely adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni and Boman Irani.Upon release, the film was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and had the highest opening day collections for an Indian film up until that point. It also held the record for the highest net collections in the first week for a Bollywood film. It also became one of the few Indian films to become successful in East Asian markets such as China.

6. Chennai Express (Gross 423 crore, US$63 million)

Chennai Express is a 2013 Indian romantic action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty, and produced by Gauri Khan for Red Chillies Entertainment. The film features Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles; it is the second collaboration between Khan and Padukone after Om Shanti Om (2007). The film is about a man's journey from Mumbai to Rameswaram, and what happens along the way after he falls in love with the daughter of a local don. Principal photography began on 27 September 2012, filming began in October 2012 and was completed by May 2013.

It stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.This is the fourth collaboration between Barjatya and Khan after their previous films Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, and Hum Saath Saath Hain.

4. Dhoom 3 (Gross 540 crore, US$80 million)

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film stars Salman Khan as the title character opposite Anushka Sharma. The film focuses on Sultan Ali Khan, a wrestling champion from Haryana whose successful career creates a rift in his personal life.The film was released worldwide on 6 July 2016 and grossed approximately 584 crore worldwide and became the fourth highest grossing Indian film of all time.

It stars Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan in supporting roles. Khan stars as Bajrangi, an ardent devotee of Hindu deity Hanuman, who embarks on taking a mute six-year-old Pakistani girl (Malhotra), separated in India from her parents, back to her hometown in Pakistan.The film was released worldwide on 17 July 2015 and grossed approximately 626 crore worldwide and became the second highest grossing Indian film of all time, behind PK.

It tells the story of an alien who comes to Earth on a research mission. He befriends a television journalist and questions religious dogmas and superstitions.The film received positive reviews and emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time and ranks as the 70th highest-grossing film of 2014 worldwide.The film has been regarded as one of the best Hindi films of 2014.PK was the first Indian film to gross INR7 billion worldwide.It was also the first Indian film to gross US$100 million (Rs 630 crore) worldwide.
